    Brian Patterson Agilent Technologies

    Brian Patterson, an icon in biochemistry and a passionate advocate for marine life, has created a life where professional success and personal passion harmoniously coexist. Born in Webster, Texas, he makes his home in Parrish, Florida, melding his significant career achievements with a love for the ocean and a deep-rooted commitment to his family. His story is of relentless pursuit of excellence, impactful leadership, and the high esteem he enjoys in his professional and personal spheres.

     

    Growing up in Clear Lake City, a suburb of Houston, his upbringing blended scientific and artistic influences, thanks to his parents' diverse backgrounds in aeronautical engineering and jewelry design. This unique fusion fostered in him a profound appreciation for both precision and creativity. His high school years were marked by active participation in sports, where he developed essential leadership and teamwork skills, setting the stage for his future accomplishments.

     

    After graduating from Clear Lake High School in 1991, he embarked on an academic journey at the University of Texas in Austin, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry. He continued his educational pursuits with a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Polymers from Florida State University, obtained in 2000. These academic achievements were the building blocks of his illustrious career.

     

    His professional journey commenced at Mosaic Technologies in Waltham, Massachusetts. As a Senior Scientist, his notable work included the development of a novel 3-D biopolymer substrate for microarray fabrication. He then progressed through several critical roles at Matrix Technologies, Apogent Technologies, and Fisher Scientific, continually refining his scientific expertise and leadership skills.

     

    In 2005, a pivotal career advancement led him to Agilent Technologies. Dr Brian began as a Genomics Field Applications Scientist and climbed the ranks to become a Product Specialist and later a District Manager. His exceptional work was recognized with the prestigious President's Club award in 2009 and 2014. Between 2015 and 2022, he took on the role of Associate Vice President within Agilent's Diagnostics and Genomics Group, successfully leading three commercial channels and founding the Corporate Accounts channel.
